Bike Maintainance

Currently, I am a volunteer in FR workshop, which is a community workshop with many bike repairing tools. And thanks to the workshop, I am able to have more opportunities to practice my skills of repairing bikes. FR workshop is free for every tenants in Olofshöjd and I do not charge anything for helping with bike maintainance during my volunteer time (even it is not the duty of volunteers, volunteers only need to guarantee the safety and the usage of the tools).

I’ve kept some photos from the bike maintenance.

A Bicycle Assembly for My Friend

This is a project for my friend, who needs to assemble the bike from scratch. The bike has an alloy frame, a Shimano 7020 groupset, a carbon fiber seatpost, and an integrated carbon handlebar with internal cable routing.

Complete Bike

Turn My Trash MTB into a Reliable One

I spent 200 kr to pick up an old mountain bike from an event organized by the Chalmers CSS group. To be honest, it was more like a gamble to choose a bike with enough potential to modify and restore. I forgot to keep a complete photo of the bike, but here is one for reference.

The bike was in really bad condition. The chain was completely obsolete and the shift levers were broken too. Most parts of the bike were rusted, especially the fork and the screws.

I gave a brave try that I planned not only restored the bike, but also modified the V-brake system into a disk brake system. The plan and the purchase lasted almost a month until everything was ready. Then I modified the bike in only one day’s hard work. And it turned to be a successful one with limited budget.

Removed the rust, replaced the handlebar and the shift levers. Also the V-brake system was replaced by shimano MT-200 mineral oil disk brakes. The “new” bike now brought smooth riding experience.
