My first long-distance bike tour was in Norway with one of my friends. And firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to my friend, who not only planned the whole route but also gave me plenty of help and support.
We first took the train from Gothenburg on the 26th and stayed the whole night to get to Storlien. From Storlien, we then took another train to cross the border and arrived at the starting point of our trip — Trondheim.
After arriving, it was about noon and so we decided to have some food first at Burger King. My friend said, “Burger King is a good place and we need to cherish it.” It was, indeed, truth as not every town has a Burger King and those normal burgers became feasts for us later.

We managed to tour around the city before leaving for Orkanger. We visited Nidaros Cathedral which is second largest church in Scandinavia, and Gamle Bybro famous for its “Gate of Happiness” and scenic views over the Nidelva River.

I have to say that the weather in Norway was really not pleasant, but still we tried to keep some real pictures. Two pictures were taken during the ride to Orkanger.

Everything went as planned until we decided to camp somewhere. In Norway, shelters made of wood are common, some of which maintained by the government and others by enthusiastic local residents. Lack of experience, we picked a shelter located onto the mountain. The shelter, however, was for hikers and there was a really long, steep gravel roads to the shelter. It was too later before we discovered this😂.
